Tycho
Tycho was born at the animal shelter on July 9, 2007. His mother was a chihuahua, and he had four siblings, but was the last to be adopted. His father was identified, on idurmutt.com, as a border collie. This was later confirmed by his veterinarian. Tycho weighs about 20 pounds, is very friendly, full of energy, athletic, and smart as a whip. Because his father was a border collie, Tycho has a tendency to herd both people and Jake. Because he was adopted on the day of a full moon, he was named Tycho after the 16th century Danish nobleman and astronomer, Tycho Brahe, for whom a crater on the moon has been named.

Jake
Jake is a mix of a wiry fox terrier and a schnauzer. He's about a year old. He was left at the front gate of an animal shelter and adopted two weeks later. Jake weighs about 30 pounds and is friendly, full of energy, affectionate, playful, and a great watch dog. On the down side, because of his heritage (identified on idurmutt.com), Jake likes to dig giant deep holes in the middle of the back yard (something he made a point of teaching Tycho). Jake met Tycho at the animal shelter only minutes before they were adopted together. Jake was named Jake because he looks like a Jake.
